Fake news is not some new fad. In 1Ki.22 a plot is hatched to kill Ahab. Many plans were put on the table but eventually, fake news was decided upon: "I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets..." (1 Ki.22:22)
Christians are commissioned to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good News of redemption in His Blood and a new Birth anchored in His Resurrection. We must see to it that our lifestyle and the Good News we preach are in tandem, otherwise we will not convince a skeptical world and turn the Good News into Fake News.
Manufacturers always issue an instruction manual with every machine they put on the market. By referring to it we learn how to use it to its utmost potential.
Human beings are the most complicated physical and spiritual entities ever designed and created. Fortunately our Maker also issued us with an instruction manual to refer to, when the going gets tough. That Manuel is the Bible, and Apostle Paul describe it like this: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," (2 Tim.3:16)
The Lord gave Joshua some sound advice: "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it..."(Jos.1:8)
Many centuries later our Lord Jesus gave even better advice. He transposed and nut-shelled an ever growing Law-book into an "easy yoke and light burden" (Mat.11:28) of just one single word: LOVE, the fulfillment of the Law (Mat.5:17).
❤Please Lord, let everything we think, say or do be baptized in the Love of Jesus Christ. AMEN❤
Unlike an oak tree, the trunk of a palm tree is supple, which allows it to bend in the wind and when the hurricane subsides it stands tall again, stronger than before.
Our spiritual life must be supple, like a palm tree! When God does not deliver our needs we petitioned Him for in our prayers by speed courier and Satan blows hurricanes of doubt over our faith, don't be ripped out of your foundation like an oak. This is how Apostle James puts it: "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." (Jas1:6)
"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers." (Ps.1:1)
The Bible warns us away from "the wicked, sinners and mockers", because God knows how easily we can be drawn into Satan's miry clay. However, Jesus wants us to disciple all humans irrespective of who or what they are, which means we cannot lock ourselves up physically in a monastery or convent. Spiritually, yes, but we need to rub shoulders with those world citizens as REDEEMED sinners, to Bless those mockers with THE WAY!
Do God need human sacrifice? The answer is an ambiguous yes and no!
NO! God does not need indoctrinated people to blow themselves up in order to kill other people, under the impression that they do God a service and a favor and will reap generous divine rewards. Those people martyr themselves for eternal condemnation!
THAT... IS FALSE WORSHIP!
YES! God needs humans to sacrifice "their bodies as a LIVING sacrifice" (Rom.12:1) to serve Him by serving their fellow humans.
THAT... IS TRUE WORSHIP!
Pro.29:15 - "A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother." Many parents/teachers think it's bad to be forbidden to use the "rod" to discipline kids. But is that true? "Rod" can also be translated as "scepter", giving a different angle on disciplining a child.
A scepter is an emblem of royalty. We should place a scepter in our kids hands and teach them to be children of the King, but remember, we can only do that if WE act like kings and queens of the King. As Jesus said: "The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing..." (Joh.5:19)
Many congregations are burdened by too many congregants that are not involved with the Church's activities. Then again, one get those overzealous congregants that want to serve in all different parts of the church simultaneously!
We should read and meditate on 1Cor.12:12-31 and think about the congregation as a body with many parts and ask the Holy Spirit to show us where to serve. If all the congregants actively engage where God inspire them to be, the Body of Christ will be built up to the Glory of God. It's good to have many talents, but do not let too many talents be a handicap for your congregation.
Do you have sleepless nights because you are unsure whether God has forgiven your sins? Don't subject yourself to those torturous and depressing thoughts and start to LIVE, in freedom, always assured that all your sins are forgiven.
It's not as difficult as our Opponent, the Devil, wants us to think it is. Just go back to how Christ taught us to pray, and see the answer staring right back at us: "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." (Mat.6:12) Yes, the guarantee we have that our debts are forgiven, is founded in our resolve to forgive our debtors!
If you have lots of money, you can redeem just about anything that is as expendable as the money you own. Sadly, money can only take you as far as that moment when your life on earth itself is expended.
However, life on earth is just the caterpillar stage of God's blueprint for humanity. The breathtaking butterfly stage comes after the cocoon of the grave. But to enter that stage we need to be redeemed by God's indispensable currency, as 1Pet.1:18-19 puts it: "For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed, but with...
THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST"
