When did mankind decide that certain jobs are decent and others not? This mindset must surely be that of the Satan, who thrives on dividing mankind by any means.
No! To God who said: "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food” (Gen.3:19), every human being, no matter in which position they serve the human ecology, has a decent job. The engineer's job is as vital as that of the garbage collector. Don't look down on others, because God will look down on you. What is needed is for everybody to earn a decent WAGE and the respect of their fellow humans.
The most important commandment begin with: "Hear, O Israel... (Mar.12:28-29) Yet, this urgent plea to "hear" fell on deaf Jewish ears. Jesus said: "For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears..." (Mat.13:15)
Let's test OUR hearing: Do we listen to answer, or to understand? Do we interject a speaker? Do we hum with the choir annoying others who want to hear? Do we fumble during the sermon? If yes, we have impaired hearing. Remember: "faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." (Rom.10:17)
The Old Testament guarded jealously and mercilessly (Ex.20:5) over the Children of Israel. But then a New Testament was written with the Blood of Jesus Christ and endorsed by His Resurrection.
We are redeemed! Let us "Stand firm, then, and not be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Gal.5:1) Our freedom in Christ demand that we cannot be slaves of Sin, of the Old Testament, of Religion! In thankfulness we can only submit to that Love of which Jesus is the Manifestation and our generosity in worship, service, freewill offering etc., the Representation.
Ponder this: Who is my Master? Apostle Peter states categorically: “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” (2Pet.2:19)
THE GOOD: Mastered by God. They are the Good Samaritans, Gospel slaves, Children of the Kingdom of Heaven! The "victorious" (Rev.21:7)
THE BAD: Mastered by Satan and are slaves to Apathy, the "goats, condemned to eternal punishment" Mat.25:31-46!
THE UGLY: Mastered by the Devil and are slaves to Evil, "consigned to the second death" (Rev.21:8)
Sorry, but you cannot ponder forever: CHOOSE YOUR MASTER!
Death - Humanity's Enemy #1 and the most lethal terrorist that was ever let loose upon the face of the earth. However, God who has the earth in His hands, also has Death on a leash.
The day when Death's fangs kissed the heel of Jesus it lost its sting and the smile of victory was wiped off its face (1Cor.15:55) To His followers Jesus gave a special Promise with regard to Death: "The one who believes in me will live, even though they die" (Joh.11:25)So, when Children of the Gospel enters "The last mile of the Way" they can sing a lullaby to Death.
In 1968 the price of a barrel OPEC crude was $1.32 and 50 years later it increased more than 50 times to about $70 a barrel. In the same time the price of gold rose 30 times from $43 to $1290 a fine ounce!
These skyrockets took everything else with them up to a "Big Bang" that's bound to happen soon. Yes, the price of everything went up, except for the Blood of Jesus that has never lost its Power and can never be devalued. The Bible says "it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed...but with the precious blood of Christ..." (1Pet.1:18-19)
Security has become one of the top priorities in a fallen world. The systems used to safeguard houses, businesses, governments, the internet etc. is mind boggling and can get very sophisticated!
Heaven also has a strict security system. ONLY "those who are victorious will inherit" the Kingdom, while others will be "consigned to a "second death" (Rev.21:7-8) Believe it: Things like fingerprint identification or facial recognition will not open heaven's portals. All will be judged whether it can be recognized if we have the Spirit of Jesus in our hearts.
The shoulder shrugger says: One can take the sheep to the water, but you cannot make it drink. The entrepreneur says: Make it thirsty and it will beg you to take it to the water!
Evangelizing works on the same principle. The Gospel is that "water of life, clear as crystal flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb." (Rev.22:1) The Water of Life is there for the drinking, but if you are unable to create a "thirst" (Isa.55:1) for righteousness, for eternal life, for Jesus Christ, the sheep will be happy to be satisfied with whatever the world has to offer.
A while ago I read a desperate plea for help from a pastor. How sad that in ONE Christianity some reverends are so revered that they wallow in luxury while others long "to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything." (Luk.15:16)
Don't make your spiritual leader cry out to God, while your "cup overflows". The Bible says"...one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor" (Gal.6:6) and “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain; THE WORKER DESERVES HIS WAGES.”(1Tim.5:18)
Time can go by cruelly fast. Before you can say "amen hallelujah" the children are grownups, ready to "be fruitful and increase" (Gen.1:28)!
By then the matured parents look at life differently, many times with remorse: "O how I wish I spent more time with my children, but it was work and business and work and busyness... But then God send a second chance - a grandchild. Don't spoil them, but bless them with quality time. So if you see this old man playing marbles with his grandchildren, don't think he's lost his marbles. He's just grabbing his second chance.
