INTRODUCTION
A fig tree loses its leaves in autumn and during the winter it looks like the tree has died. Such is the situation with Christianity. The Christian Figtree was a stunning picture of blossoms when the Church started off on Pentecost 1993 years ago.
However, after a small yield of some early figs, even before summer could set in, autumn returned to the Church as the false teachings started to wrap this Body of Jesus Christ in a burial shroud. When the ancient Roman Religion infiltrated and usurped the Church in the early 1st Century, it was indeed a very harsh winter that descended upon the Church and with it, spiritual Death, with the only sign of life “a form of godliness but denying its power…” (2Tim.3:5)
It seems like the fig tree that Jesus cursed before He was on his way to Calvary was an apt prophesy of what would happen with the Christian Fig Tree: “May you never bear fruit again” (Mat 21:19) As soon as the Christian Fig Tree started it “withered”.
The Apostle Paul was completely taken aback by the situation in the Church: “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel…” (Gal.1:6) Shame! It seems like Christ died in vain for the Church… that time was rolled back instead of the gravestone, that Jesus Christ was still nailed to the cross as the Roman Catholic crucifix so sadly depicts, that the belief in the Resurrection became just lip devotion in the Apostles Creed. Once again the words, not unlike the first line of Psalm 22, reverberates throughout the Christian world: “My Flock, My Flock, why hast thou forsaken me?”
The scoffers and the atheists had a field day over the past two thousand years: “… there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, where is the promise of his coming?” (2Pet.3:3-4) However, the mockers will not laugh last! Spring is in the air!
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and put forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” (Mat 24:32-35)
The curse of the fig tree is about to be lifted!
Yes, spring, “the time when kings go off to war,” (2Sam.11:1) has finally sprung for Christianity on the very day that Vladimir Putin went off to war against Ukraine, in the fulfilment of the prophetical enactment of the battle between David and Goliath (1Sam.17) right here on our watch. The Cross that became a symbol of the death of Christ will soon blossom like the staff of Aaron (Lev.17:8; Heb.9:4) and become the sign of His Resurrection in the Church, when the first of two End time Witnesses of Revelations 11 step out of the pages of the Bible and on to the world stage to shed some divine light on the hidden prophecies of the Bible.
I invite you to join me in connecting the dots of Bible End time prophecy through this murky and turbulent times that we are currently passing through.
