“You are a king, then! said Pilate. Jesus answered, you say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me. What is truth? retorted Pilate. With this he went out again..." (John 18:37-38)
Every story like this has two sides. The traditional side we'd like to hear and don't want tampered with, and the "other" side we'd love to avoid, because it calls for us to rethink established customs. As followers of Jesus, however, we have no choice. We will have to listen to both sides of the argument and decide about what the truth is. We are not to ask Jesus, as Pilate did, "What is truth?" but without waiting for the answer, turn our backs on Jesus.

The Bible is like a gigantic jigsaw puzzle that will only present a comprehensible picture if every piece is fitted into its correct place, with the Book of Revelations its concluding Chapter. This prophetic Book is in turn loaded with Old Testament symbolism that will indeed convey the intended message to the reader if it is applied correctly. The two witnesses of Chapter 11 is no different.
This man’s image is already badly tarnished even before he is revealed to the world. When we look at the Scripture where this figure is described through a prophet’s eyes a totally different picture unfolds, like it is with so many other places in the Bible. But let us take this pericope verse-by-verse to see what the Bible wants to teach us. Where the going gets tough I will use the Strong’s number and explain. We will do this in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible.
Many people think that the word “end-time” refers to a particular time-pinpoint when Armageddon is upon us. Endtime is in fact a timespan that begins with the Baptism of Jesus Christ (Mat.3:13) and will end with the catastrophic “great and dreadful day of the Lord”, which Malachi (4:5) prophesies about, which is in fact Armageddon. However, there is abundant life after the cataclysmic event called Armageddon.
