The Commandment to "Love the Lord your God... and your neighbor..." (Matt.22:37-39) given more than 3000 years ago, should have ruled the world by now, but sadly, it has been sidelined, because believers think selfishly about God... that only THEIR perspective on God is the TRUE one and that neighbor means somebody who belongs to the same church.
NOT so, says Jesus. He says the Samaritan with a "contemptible" religion who shows MERCY, becomes the neighbor (Luke 10:37). Jesus wants us to look past religion and see that a Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, even atheist, is our neighbor if they show the love, mercy and compassion of Christ, the Real Samaritan (see Rom.2:14-15).
Yes, love Jesus with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, but honor Him with respect for different views about God and love your neighbor, irrespective of religion.
