2 Corinthians 4:7 – “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
Every Friday I see Jesus in action.
On Friday mornings, very early, the people of our suburb must put out their garbage bins, because that’s when our turn comes for the garbage to be collected.
However, before the collection is done, the bin-miners do the round of the bins. They go from bin to bin to collect anything of value to sell to the scrap dealers…
to put bread on the table.
Their eyes are trained to detect things that are worthless to us, and salvage it from the landfills. They do a great job for recycling.
In the actions of the human bin-miners I see Jesus the Divine Bin-Miner. We, humans, are the dirt bins. Other people may see nothing of value in our lives, but not the trained eye of Jesus.
Other people may have given up hope for us, but not Jesus.
Other people may have lost patience with us, but not Jesus.
To Jesus we are treasures in clay jars.
Jesus saved us from the eternal landfill of the Devil, and recycle us to be fit for His Kingdom in heaven.
