The day of the 16th of October 2017 is set apart to call the world's attention to hunger, a disease that kills more people than AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria COMBINED.
Unlike the trillions of dollars needed to treat those illnesses, the most deadly disease of them all, namely HUNGER, can be eliminated with a fraction of that cost, with the added bonus of eliminating the main causes of those other illnesses by boosting the human immune system!
Hunger in the world is the result of a humanity perpetually in the grip of the "Devil of Greed" which equates hungry people with "dogs eating the crumbs that fall from their master's table!" (Mat.15:27)
Every human being who have more than sufficient to eat can share with those who have less or nothing. Dish up an extra plate and share it with somebody your heart points out to you. Don't send the hungry beggar away emptyhanded. You will be blessed so that your "jar of flour will not be used up and your jug of oil will not run dry..." (1 Ki.17:16)
Let the light of the Gospel shine brightly in your neighbourhood, town and city and let us remove those terrible dog tags from our fellow travellers.
Jesus warned against the "ferocious wolves in sheep's clothing", those devils in disguise that will dominate the Christian pulpits. He added: “Watch out for false prophets. By their fruit you will recognize them." (Mat.7:14-16)
But, it seems like the smell of money is a better lure than the Words of Jesus. Surely the time has come "for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Pet.4:17)
Is it so difficult to recognise the devil if he lives in a mansion like in the pic, while he or she proclaims a Jesus who said: "Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."??? (Mat.8:20)
Yes, the time has come for believers to stand up against these false preachers. Demand repentance from them, and demand to be preached the unadulterated Gospel of Jesus Christ. IF THEY ARE UNREPENTANT, EITHER CHASE THEM FROM THE PULPIT, OR FLEE FROM THEM!
President Donald Trump issued an extraordinary ultimatum to North Korea on Tuesday warning Pyongyang not to make any more threats against the United States or they will "face fire and fury like the world has never seen," (CNN)
This unveiled threat leaves little doubt that Washington has drawn a red line and President Trump will not hesitate to press a red nuclear button in the case of overstepping...
The result of pressing that button will be too ghastly to contemplate. The world has a nuclear arsenal that can "lay waste the earth" a number of times. But what does God say about this matter? "See, THE LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants" (Isa.24:1)
So who exactly is this "Lord"? Donald Trump? Kim Jong Un? Vladimir Putin? These gentlemen are advised that playing with a red nuclear button is playing with fire and in this case, playing with fire is playing with God, because the Bible says our “God is a consuming fire.” (Heb.12:28-29)
Ponder this: President JFK, who also threatened with the red nuclear button, was dead just a year after the Cuban missile crises was resolved. Was his assassination purely a human act, or was God behind it?
On the road to Damascus, Saul, the persecutor of Christ, was struck blind by a very bright light and had to be led by the hand to Damascus, where his eyesight was restored and he became a totally different person, now with the name Paul, proclaiming the Gospel of selfless duty to his fellow humans, preaching humility by example and declaring the prosperity of this world "garbage" (Phi.3:8)
It's a fact that many Christians are also blinded by a light. However, it's a pity that it's not the light of the Gospel, but of wealth and prosperity. It's the story of Paul in reverse. Paul was first blinded by the light of Christ, THEN Baptised! These prosperity chasers were first Baptised THEN blinded by the light of Satan and earthly riches!
Apostle Paul very aptly summed up these wayward prosperity teachers and their followers' obsession with money in 2Cor.11:14-15.
"And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. (2 Cor.11:14-15)
Saul repented and was renamed Paul by Jesus. What name will these prosperity teachers and their followers receive from Satan, now that they have fallen away from the Grace of the Gospel? Think about it!
One reads in 1 Kings 18 how Elijah exposed the Baal Prophets and brought the hearts of the children of Israel back to the God of Israel.
The Book of Malachi prophecies in 4:5 that in the end-times Elijah will come again. This time he is going to tackle the false prophets of Christianity, who lure the hearts of spiritual Israel away from Jesus and the Gospel, to the false promises of money, luxury homes and cars, presented on behalf of the Devil!
Be warned Christians, do NOT follow these "blind guides". Jesus says you will NOT be saved, but warns: "If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” (Mat.15:14)
There must have been many people throughout the ages who asked themselves this question: What on earth possessed me, that I did what I've done!
Like Cain must have said after he murdered his brother. Or Achan after he took some forbidden loot (Jos.7). Or Judas after he betrayed Jesus...
In recent history someone like Hitler must have asked himself that question before he died, or the perpetrators who installed the terrible Apartheid regime in South Africa, and so the list goes on...
But what about you and me my fellow believer. Could we ever comprehend what on earth possessed us after we did something really stupid?
God is ever graceful and merciful if we come to a standstill, have genuine remorse, and begin all over on a fresh new page of our lives.
REMEMBER: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 Joh.1:9)
The "mission" command of Jesus can be nut-shelled into just TWO words: "BAPTIZE them and TEACH them" (Joh.19:19-20)
There is nothing ambiguous about the Command. It is straightforward and down to the point. However, contention comes in with the UNDERSTANDING of this command, as can be witnessed throughout the spectrum of Christianity.
Some sprinkle, others immerse, some baptise children and adults, others adults only. There are effectively a legion of differences within the Christian Church about this extremely vital matter and every section offer their various reasons for their status quo.
This so unnecessary contention comes in and sow division, just because the second part of the Mission Command is not given the consideration it should have had: TEACH them! The question is: EXACTLY WHAT SHOULD BE TAUGHT? Pentecostalism? Catholicism? The different Reform doctrines?
That is surely NOT what Jesus or His Comforter had in mind. Baptism is NOT supposed to divide Christianity as it currently does, but is an intended SACRAMENT OF UNIFICATION, as Eph.4:5 so aptly says: "one Lord, one faith, one baptism"
There is a lot more to be said about baptism: that it is something much deeper and greater than a mere bodily action. Apostle Peter describes it like this: (1Pet.3:21) "...and this water SYMBOLIZES baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ..."
Apostle Peter thus clearly implies that BAPTISM DOES NOT SAVE PER SE, BUT BECAUSE OF THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST!
To be baptised by the Holy Spirit certainly has nothing to do with physical water, but everything with immersing the believer in the Word of the Gospel...
I REPEAT: We should NOT be immersed into Religion, but into the GOSPEL.
As a spiritually baptized Apostle Paul declared: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Gal.2:20)
Some years ago my left eye started to deteriorate. A film was slowly growing over the eye. I asked the Lord in earnest prayer for the removal of this obstacle.
Years passed and nothing happened. The eye just got worse over time. At last I made an appointment at the local Clinic to see the specialist and after another year of waiting I suddenly got a call that I had to report at the eye-hospital the next day.
After sleeping one night over in hospital, my eye was operated on and that same day I was discharged. Nine days later I was writing this message with my eye restored to near perfect condition.
Yes, I bear witness that miracles still happen today. Jesus had the power to make cataracts and pterygiums flee from the eyes at His command. I'm sure that God can still heal like that, but God also wants us to make use of the medical profession, which is just a part of SCIENCE, which again is just a chip off the OmniSCIENCE of God.
The different facets of God are beamed out into the world like radio stations do with their messages. On the other hand, the mind of every human being is like a receiver that's capable of receiving those messages.
This setup gives rise to the many religions and mindsets in the world. Every human being is in one way or the other attracted to the message of a divine radio station.
However, there is one message that transcends all the radio frequencies: The Gospel! One needs to be fine-tuned in, in order to receive its Message of charitable love and service to fellow humans in the midst of the cacophony of religious sounds.
My eye operation again reminded me of this Gospel Truth. The Bible says we are "many members, yet but one body." (1 Cor.12:20)
When the eye gets injected and worked on, the WHOLE body, even the little toe is sensitive to what happens with the eye.
The congregation should also function as a body. There are many members, but ALL are connected to Christ in a very special way. Nobody has more value than another: "And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of you: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you." (1 Cor.12:21)
Pastors, Elders, Bishops and "ordinary" members all have EQUAL value in the eyes of Jesus, each with their own unique gift, to build up and function as ONE Body of Christ in the world.
