"The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it's going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)
And so it is also with anybody sent on a mission by the Spirit. Like Jona, sent to Ninive, but went to Tarshish. So the wind of the Spirit blew him via a fish's belly to the heart of the earth, then on to dry land and eventually his divine destination.
Every believer has a divine mission: God wants our lives endorsed by the Gospel. We can choose to be like Jonah and take the long and hard road, or we can be obedient and surrender our lives to the Spirit.
Mammon is my shepherd, I want more and more.
He makes me lie down in pastures of diamonds, he leads me beside the ATM's, he refreshes my bank account.
He guides me along the paths of corruption for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through lean times, I will fear no bankruptcy, for Mammon are with me; your super affluence, they comfort me.
You prepare my balance sheets before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with liquid gold; my vault overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of Lord Mammon forever.
Sure! The Gospel is written into the Bismillah, the Quran's opening phrase, which in Arabic is: bismillāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm ("In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the most Merciful").
The Grace and Mercy of the Bismillah, which is undetachable from Charitable Love, is THE GOSPEL IN ITS FULL GLORY!
The Bismillah is the Signature of Allah, His endorsement of the entire Quran. It means that the Qur'an and every Islamic Law must be weighed against the Grace and Mercy of the Bismillah.
The Bismillah ceremony, a ceremony held for a child's initiation into Islam, also means that every believer that wants to surrender him or herself to ALLAH, must exercise the Grace and Mercy towards ALL fellow humans, for the sake of Allah, and Islam, the Religion of Peace.
The BISMILLAH, the LAW OF LOVE (Mark12:29-31), the GOLDEN RULE and the GOSPEL presents different facets of ONE UNDIVIDED LAW, according to which humanity will one day be judged!
When car enthusiasts must decide on new wheels, the capacities of different features come under severe scrutiny. Things like engine size, torque, liters per kilometer, braking power, acceleration and range weighs more than the price tag.
Different humans also has different capacities and God knows how far He can go with each of us. He knows our pain ceiling, how patient we are, how charitable our hearts are. He knows when we are plain lazy, capable of doing much more or going along at full throttle.
Let us not under-perform for God who knows our capacity.
Many people spend quality time in front of a mirror to make sure everything is in place before braving it into the public arena.
In a spiritual sense, the Bible, Qur'an etc has the same function of a mirror, but how attentive are we when we compare our spiritual image with the instructions of our Holy Book?
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like." (James 1:22-24)
Have you ever wondered how Christ endured the physical pain at His crucifixion... the scourge, the nails...?
It is an established fact that spiritual abuse is far more damaging and painful, and can induce a narcosis effect, dulling physical pain.
His betrayal by a DISCIPLE must have been worse than the scourging, the pain of being denied by Peter, His future PASTOR must have hurt more than nails.
Do we, as followers, disciples, pastors etc betray Jesus with our lifestyles, deny Him with our deeds?
Let's stop hurting Him with a pain worse than nails!
A strong faith must surely be the dream of every believer. With faith and prayer irrevocably intertwined, it means the dynamics of faith is increased by turning the words of prayer into deeds.
The Apostle James describes this process very effectively: "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:14-16)
When the Devil tempted Jesus in the desert, he continuously quoted Scripture to drive home some point, but Jesus refuted him every time by saying" It is also written..." (Mat.4:7) and quoting some other text.
The Devil is very sophisticated. Humans don't stand a chance, if they are not wide awake. His strategy is to lure you away from the Gospel and not as much away from your church or Christianity.
So, if the focus in your Church is on miracles, prosperity theology, etc, tell your Pastor and other leaders: It is also written: We are commissioned to proclaim the GOSPEL (Mark16:15)
Many Christians think that the length, height and width of Christ's Saving Grace ONLY includes Christianity and believers in other religions are doomed to eternal hell, if they don't become Christians!
THESE PEOPLE DON'T PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL, BUT THEIR RELIGION!
But what does the Bible say? Judge for yourself!
"Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts..." (Romans 2:14-15)
There's a great schism between the teachings of religion and the Gospel:
May the Gospel win the fight for your soul.
